Sweet Potato Update #3

Well since planting the sprouting potato back at the end of January, my little experiment sure is doing quite well.  I'm really not sure what I'm going to do with it, but if it can hold on till after the last frost I will then move it outside.   Not sure if it will produce any tubers but it is no loss since it was only an experiment.  So here it is 6 weeks later.

More updates in the future.

The Sweet Potato Experiment Update

Remember a little while ago I found a sprouting sweet potato and had the idea of trying to grow it inside.  Well this is what it looks like now.

It is growing into a beauitful lush vine.  I just love the purple leaves with the lime green veins going through.  I cannot wait till it grows even larger.  But what is really making me wonder is will it actually produce tubers?  Truly that is my goal. So stay tuned.

I thought this was  a really neat looking picture this morrning.  The sky is just a lovely place to look for beautiful pictures.

The Sweet Potato Experiment

Well, I did not intend on this little experiment, it just sort of happened.  I was cleaning out one of my annoying corner cupboards and found this.

A sprouting sweet potato.  And as you can see not just one.  I've never had one sprout before, but perhaps since it was lost it had the time to do this.  So now what?

I'm going to attempt growing it inside.  Crazy huh!  Well I have nothing to lose.  I'm actually kinda excited about it.  However, I have never grown sweet potatoes before so this is going to be a real challenge for me.  Watch for updates on my Sweet Potato Experiment.
